Wedding of Louisa & James – St. Cennydds Church – Llangennith – Gower – South Wales – UK

Congratulations to Louisa & James who married at Saint Cennydd’s Church, Llangennith on the Gower here in South Wales

What a beautiful day as the sun shone brightly for our newly wed couple! A charming  horse drawn carriage taking Louisa to the stunning church of  St. Cennydds in the heart of Llangennith village with the breathtaking views of Llangennith beach as their backdrop & taking them from the church to celebrate with family & friends back at Louisa’s parents house in the village. Guests enjoyed refreshments at the Kings Head Hotel across the road from the lovely church whilst Louisa & James had a few moments to themselves to enjoy their first hour as Mr & Mrs! Back at the Louisa’s parents house guests enjoyed canapes & drinks whilst Rob & Mel organised the photographs for the traditional style of photography they both wanted, doing the classical photography shots of immediate family (both sets of parents, grandparents, aunties & uncles, cousins, etc…) Bridesmaids & Groomsmen all had an individual portrait alone as this was to be a present from the bride & groom to say thank you for their involvement  thorough out the day – what a lovely idea!

Thought we would give you a little bit of info about the village – so here goes; the village of Llangennith or “Llangenydd” (meaning Church of St Cenydd) nestles between the slopes of three hills; Llanmadoc Hill, Rhossili Down and Hardingsdown. The latter is the smallest of the red sandstone hills and has a number of iron age earthworks on its slopes. Llangennith is a popular destination with families and surfers (it  has its own PJ’s surf shop ). Even before surfing became popular, the sea was the focal point of the village, given its setting at the foot of the hills. There is many tales involving shipwrecks and smuggling in Llangennith, as exists for their neighbours in Horton and Port Eynon or Brandy Cove, Bishopston – the historical content for this area is magical.  This truly is a wonderful part of the united kingdom, we often call this area our mini New Zealand as the landscaping is similar spoiling us with natural beauty.

We have chosen a selection of Louisa & James amazing wedding day images to share with you all (a sneaky peak) from the Bride & Groom preparations   – Father & Daughter – Ceremony –  Arriving at the church – Attention to detail – Signing of the Register – Mr & Mrs leaving the church – Newly weds time alone.  We thought we would leave you hanging with the celebrations!
